I don't usually blog about daily events but I've just spent a day and a half with my seven- and nine-year-old cousin brothers. Being with kids is full of moments when you can't help but think It's so sweet how they've attached themselves to you and some amazement at how much your attention means to them. But many a times, it's full of Don't touch that!, Be careful, Please sit down, Don't hit your brother!, and Kill meeeee.... Hopefully this will be somewhat entertaining (:
Since I will be leaving Malaysia tomorrow, they asked if I could stay the night over, which I did.
The older boy has a baby orange lobster that he keeps with about 6 little fishes. In random intervals, he'd call me over to look at the lobster even though I had just seen it 10 minutes ago. Then he'd point out his observations. Sometimes, he'd ask me to watch lobster videos on YouTube with him.
He also gave me the honour of feeding his fishes :)
That's pretty much all we did before bed. Lobster, lobster, lobster.
At about 12am, they needed to sleep because of tuition lessons the following morning. Instead of their room, they insisted they share the guest room with me. Eeeh, after much convincing I just let them. It was me in the middle and the two boys pressed on both my sides. No wiggle room D:
We chatted a bit but the younger one got sleepy. And then hungry. But sleepiness trumped hunger. One down...
The older one didn't want to sleep, so we kept talking till 2am-ish. After deciding that he shouldn't be awake any longer, I feigned sleep and ignored his constant nudging and calling. I didn't sleep very well that night because of all the legs, arms and heads on me. Then they had to wake me up at 7am.
At 7am, we watched Looney Toons reruns and then played some PS3 - Tekken 6, Transformers and Fifa. We played The Game of Life twice (probably the 10th time since I came back) and was about to watch Jurassic Park, but dad came to pick me up.
I think just as I was about to leave, the younger one gave me six stickers stuck on a blank A4 paper. Following conversation ensued:
"This is for you to collect stickers. When people give you, you stick here okay?"
"Har? Stickers ah?"
"Ya la! When you go to school, your teachers give you sticker, you stick here."
"My teachers don't give me stickers anymore la"
"Then yours friends give you stickers."
This made me laugh :D So guys, I need stickers!
Jokes...
Sigh, my flight is in another 7.5 hours.
